Our History

Widening Participation Medics was co-founded by Maha Arif and Robyn Little in October 2022 at the University of Edinburgh to support medical students from underrepresented backgrounds and create a stronger sense of community and belonging.

Both Maha and Robyn came into university though a WP scheme called REACH.
Today, Widening Participation Medics continues to champion inclusion, connection and equal opportunities in medicine, with the belief that widening participation should extend beyond admission to medical school.
